Overview

Segments in GRO allow you to group golfers based on shared characteristics — like the rate they booked — so you can better target them in marketing campaigns. This article walks you through enabling system-generated segments, creating custom ones, and managing contacts within those segments.

1. Access Segments in GRO

  1. Go to gro.golfback.com and log in.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select Segments.
  3. You’ll see a list of all segments available for your course.

Note: GRO automatically imports rate types from your point-of-sale system. These system-generated segments can be used immediately in campaigns.

2. Enable or Disable System Segments
  • To disable a segment you don’t wish to use, simply toggle it off.
  • You can re-enable it at any time by toggling it on.
3. Create a Custom Segment
  1. Click New Segment at the top.
  2. Enter a name and description.
  3. Click Save.

Newly created segments are disabled by default. Locate the segment in your list and use the toggle switch to enable it.

4. Add Golfers to a Custom Segment

Manually:

  1. Go to Contacts in the left menu.
  2. Search for the golfer you want to edit.
  3. Click the pencil icon next to their name.
  4. Edit their profile and assign the custom segment.

In Bulk:

  • Use the Import Contacts feature to assign segments to multiple golfers.
  • For help with importing, see:

Next Steps

Now your custom segments are enabled and populated! You can start using them in any GRO marketing campaign.
